The name
Astraea means star.
In Greek myth she’s the star-maiden, the goddess who left the world behind and became a constellation. That’s where the compass on every boat comes from. Out here, you still find your way by what’s overhead — not by what everyone else is doing.
Worldview
We build for the quiet hours.
Think about the best parts of a day on the water: running out before first light, drifting while the lines are in, heading home with everyone asleep on the cushions. That’s most of what a boat is for, and it’s the part we care about getting right.
An Astraea is built to feel calm and sure, not busy. The power is there the second you want it, and nothing on board is fighting for your attention when you don’t.
None of that means the boat does less. It runs hard — it just doesn’t make a show of it.

We think as hard about what to leave off a boat as what to put on it. If a feature won't make the boat better to own over the long haul, it doesn't make the cut.
We never trade capability
Quiet doesn't mean soft. These boats run hard and handle real offshore water. The calm sits on top of that; it never costs you any of it.
We build for decades
We don't chase whatever's in style this year. A boat we build should look as right in twenty years as it does today, and hold its value to match.
We keep technology quiet
The screens, the power, the offshore systems are all there. None of them shout. We build the capability in deep enough that the boat still feels calm to be on.

Our boats don't announce themselves. People who know boats spot one anyway, and that's always been plenty for us.

There’s no dealer layer between you and the people who build your boat. The yard visit, the spec, the person who answers the phone — that’s all us, from the first conversation to the day you take delivery.
We work with a few trusted partners for local service when it helps, but they never come between you and us. You always have a direct line to the people actually building your boat.
